Seems to be more or less identical functionality as the beta version, other than one minor addition. The full version and upgrade prices are about the same as last time, but it is a less substantial enhancement than any of the previous versions.

Numerous friends/colleagues at work say this new version is blisteringly quick. Seriously considering getting it now.

I still say that it offers a lot of functionality for the money and many pictures only require processing in Lightroom, which the new Develop controls can only help. I suppose after so many significant upgrades, this new version just seems to be on the light side and I have never had any issues with performance.

The problems I've had, assigned from performance, were more along the lines that it didn't always feel intuitive as to what I was doing. Photoshop has an analog in physically drawing/painting (e.g. I know what a mask is, an understanding the concept of a layer is straightforward) but applying that to Lightroom then learning the LR unique stuff just felt like a chore.

Having just processed several thousand images from a photoshoot though I'm tempted to try it for workflows like this. But when I only take a handful of pictures it's just not felt worth it spending more, learning and bothering with another tool.

I know what you means and it was not until version 3 came out that I really got to grips with it, but now I know it I would not use anything else. Time invested in learning it is well spent in my view as I find it makes processing much simpler and it has features which are not found in other versions of ACR.
