Bye Bye Shutter Button?

Digital Camera World gives details of an intriguing patent from Canon which could see the shutter release button replaced by a touch sensitive pad. Besides the examples mentioned, Apple did away with mouse buttons on its Mac Book models a few years ago with a force feedback system to simulate clicks. It does feel very realistic despite having no moving parts.
