Re: Garden Life in Autumn

For Encounters in Bushy Park, l was looking for actions shots to tell a story but also took several portraits shots of animals and large birds. Shooting small wild life in the garden is different. Ideally the set-up should have special feeding stages with adjoining hides such as at Millers Wood for ...

Re: Smartphone Pics

Thanks Mike, for the encouragement.
I might have got more from "Shadows" (actually a combination of reflected light & shadows) if I had my Lumix FZ1000 or Canon 70D to hand.

Re: Garden Life in Autumn

I finally got round to raking the leaves of the lawn on Thursday afternoon. Imagine my surprise to find two medium sized frogs among the leaf litter. The frogs were none the worse for their raking experience but further mental trauma by trying to photograph them was avoided. Instead, they were sheph...

Re: Smartphone Pics

Hi Frank, To pass the time while looking after the 3 year old grandson, I had a play with my cheap Samsung J3 mobile. Here are some abstracts created this afternoon. Original diffuse shadow was caused by light reflected from a neighbour's window pane on to a white bedroom wall in daughter's home. Gr...

Re: The Great British Landscape by Derek Forss

Hi Mike, Derek's images in these presentations are his professional shots (chocolate box types) rather than the types that he enters in photographic competitions, which he did not show us any off. I particularly liked "York at night" which was a short master class on taking images at night...

The Great British Landscape by Derek Forss

Derek Forss presented The Great British Landscape to our club members last night that I enjoyed very much. There was a good turn out with some 30 members attending! Derek presented a series of 8 AV presentations that included speech and music, most running to around the 10 min mark. Some of these ar...

Re: Garden Life in Autumn

Hi Frank, Nice macro (?) shots of the rose hips with lots of detail and the background out of focus. I have quite a lot of birds coming to the garden again now that I have filled the feeding stations. My ambition now is to try and capture some of them on film using my Panasonic FZ1000 with its 25 to...

Re: Garden Life in Autumn

In the middle of the week, trying to attract some birds to photograph, I placed a slice of bread on our patio table outside our French windows. Nothing happened that first day. Added some small crab apples (rescued from a neighbour’s garden) and next morning before I got up, the bread and apples had...

Re: 3Bags

Paul's Green bag that had a slightly bigger crop than in this post did well with a silver in last week's CCC Workshop "Judge it Yourself" at our club. See http://forums.croydoncameraclub.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2937&start=10 There were some 40+ PDI images but we only managed to ...
