Re: Tour of Dungeness B Nuclear Power Station
My hands are weapons, would they need to be chopped off? ;) In response to David's post on the other topic: Dungeness is on my list too and I'd DEFINITELY be interested in a tour of a nuclear power plant! Surely we can take photos of the cooling towers etc. from outside the restricted site? I don't ...

Re: It's Back - Allegedly
Didn't know that, but doesn't affect my opinion in either direction. However, based on this interview with PJ , it seems to be a case of re-using existing infrastructure rather than necessarily being Expansys running Jessops, so I guess it's best to reserve judgement for the time being. Looks like t...

Re: It's Back - Allegedly
I'm not a lighting expert, but wouldn't most flashes would have overheated/burnt out by now? Anyhow, I was curious so I went poking about... From Wikipedia: Jessops online printing is set to be taken over CeWe Color. CeWe Color is due to take over the Jessops Photo database in early March. The first...

Re: A Day With Damien?
I would be interested, but can't justify the cost at the moment.
(Though to be clear I don't consider it expensive for six-seven hours of tailored hands-on tuition.)
I am certainly up for doing a club photowalk if blue skies ever return...

Re: Wratten Lecture - share your thoughts
Heh, that's a rather 90s style website. :) I agree with much of what's been said already, I found it an interesting and inspiring talk. One thing that was a distraction to me was the bright white slide backgrounds, particularly when they followed a darker slide. Either more consistent backgrounds, o...

Re: David's Project 365
I like the effect here, but think it would benefit from increased contrast - maybe using histogram/curves or clarity.
Some club judges would comment about the perspective not being corrected (the tall building on the right seems to be leaning slightly?), but others wouldn't care.

Re: David's Project 365
I like it. Particularly since most lego shots are done either all in lego or with plain backgrounds, so nice to see something that's... well, not necessarily natural, but you know what I mean.

Re: Photo inspiration
you can have the privilege of first pick if you like Hah, my brain currently lacks the creativity to come up with anything. :( I like the examples you posted, since it's interesting to see people's interpretation - so... I dunno... someone flip a coin. Heads for a composition incorporating text, ta...

Re: Photo inspiration
This definitely sounds like an interesting challenge, but maybe could just have themes be monthly rather than flexible/changing end dates - easier to know where you are then, and a month is enough time to come up with an idea & execute it, without being overly long?

Re: David's Project 365
I think in this case it's not a question of good/bad/effort involved - whatever you do, you were aiming for a picture of a camera on a blank background, and what you've achieved is a picture of a camera on a blank background, which (aside from potential sentimental value) has limited interest for mo...
