Week 17/52

I wanted at least one good sunrise during my 10 days in Scotland and was lucky to get this one. Alarm was set each day for 3.50am! Scrambled out of our campervan, dashed across a golf course to reach Brora beach. Had spotted this fence leading down to the beach the day before and used it as foregrou...

Week 16/52

Have just spent 10 days in the Scottish Highlands and have returned with great memories and plenty of great images. Trying to avoid a landscape I have gone for a vintage postcard effect on The Jacobite steam train running from Fort William to Mallaig. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7362/8903833932_e0...

Week 15/52

Decided to go for the water splash shot this week. Disposable food tray was used and also some books to keep the background (a colourful magazine) upright. Then used my Canon 430ex on manual at 1/8 power to light the page from the right. This also caused a slight blowout which I found I couldnt avoi...

Re: #131 - A Storm Brews

Im tempted not to say this (as its on my list) but you will get far better results at the Horniman Museum Aquarium in Forest Hill. Was very impressed on my first visit there (without a camera) and intend to return. Out in London with friends I tried to get some shots of the jellyfish in the aquarium...

Re: #130 - In Need of Surgery

Nice story here. Gotta say its amazingly sharp with great DOF. I also looked at it on Flickr and realised its sharper on the forum! Maybe this is because it was resized to exact dimensions but Flickr shows a smaller version?? Went for a walk around Spitalfields. These abandoned bicycles, often broke...

Re: Badgers

Its a fantastic image and you are very lucky to have badgers so close. Did you try some portrait shots using your path as a lead-in line?

Re: PAD 118 - Orchid

Great composition in just focusing on a small part of the orchid. That sets it above a lot of other orchid shots Ive seen. Im liking the borders you have been using recently as well.

Week 14/52

Experimented with double exposure portraits this week and had alot of fun. Finding a suitable background is the harder part. Got myself and wife on a chair in the garden for the portrait part, ensuring uncluttered background and +1 exposure compensation for blown out background. The Photoshop work i...
