Re: Olympus has fallen!
Kirk Tuck has written a thoughtful piece highlighting how innovative Olympus has been over the years. For example, he points out that along with Panasonic, the company invented the concept of the modern mirrorless camera. https://visualsciencelab.blogspot.com/2020/06/i-read-press-release-about-olym...

Olympus has fallen!
A little dramatic; however they have just sold off their imaging business. At this point it is unclear where Newco will take the new business!

Re: Webcam
Hi All As you said yesterday most webcams are out of stock. I've had a look at Canon and using my camera as a webcam. It seems to be for use in the US, not supported here and is Beta, whatever that means. Does anyone know if this might be a problem before I download it. Many thanks and keep well ev...

Re: Shot of the Week May 2020 - Iggy Tavares
Surprisingly, I rather like this self-image that I created which just enough detail to capture my sense of lockdown. The spectacles just about in focus probably hold the image together for me signifying hope! I am not looking at it as a photograph but rather a piece of art or a piece of self perhap...

Re: Shot of the Week May 2020 - Iggy Tavares
Hi Frank, Feel free to write an honest comment on my minimalist self portrait if you wish! Iggy Hi Iggy, here are my observations, firstly the image res is V, V low and the colour is not helping the image. I know that you used a mobile to capture this image, mobiles work best when used within their...

Re: Shot of the Week May 2020 - Iggy Tavares
Hi Iggy, as suggested posted below is the content of the email I sent, I'm glad it provided some food for thought. Hope others find it useful: Hi Iggy, Hope you don't mind I thought I would just do a quick and dirty illustration to show what I meant in my comment. I have added dehaze, clarity and sh...

Nice! Your patience paid off!
I like shooting a roll at a time - old school!
What would give it a further edge is to darken down the green in the back ground.

Re: Club Meeting 15 April - Video Bloggers
Hi All I think last night's meeting went very well and I enjoyed the videos and discussions. I found it all useful. I will look at some of the photographers featured in my spare time (which I have more of). There were teething problems, but that is to be expected. This is new to all of us. The most...
