Re: Paul's Photo of the Month

Thanks for the reply Iggy. I did apply a subtle vignette which - given the square format - probably looks like the flatter part is intentionally darker, which wasnt intended. Im thinking increased contrast may just blur it all back into the same texture, although that could make it more abstract :? ...

Photographers view of Olympics

Ive found a great blog by professional sports tog Jeff Cable. It shows his experience at the Olympics with almost daily updates, starting from his initial flight onwards. There are some great shots so far and he talks about the technical aspects of coping with each venue as well - http://blog.jeffca...

Re: Paul's Photo of the Month

Here is July's image, taken at Wally's lovely BBQ. I used a Lensbaby Composer Pro, which Ive found gives nice bokeh and suits flower photography.

Photoshop new Beta feature - WOW!

Photoshop has added some new AI features under "Neural Filters" and the colorize option is very impressive. I Googled famous B&W images which I then copied in Photoshop and used this new feature (requires an additional download but quick) and without changing any sliders I instantly go...

Re: Paul's Photo of the Month

Hi Iggy I placed the panel on the floor and put the petals and rose on top. There was ambient light in the room but the panel does help shine through petals to get a translucent effect. The Clematis shot was with the panel upright though. Hi Paul, Nice and colourful. Are the petals placed on your LE...

Re: The Past Re-Lived, June 2021 – Iggy Tavares

To throw my final tuppence in I think a blend of both Franke's image and your crop Iggy would work. By that I mean I prefer the expanse of Iggy's crop as it allows the eye to wander a bit more and appreciate all the lines but I also agree that the people in the bottom left do distract. So maybe burn...

Re: The Past Re-Lived, June 2021 – Iggy Tavares

Morning Iggy I really like the staircase image! So much so that I did a quick photoshop job on it as its symmetry really appealed to me. Plus you have someone in a red dress looking at the central statue so I decided to give it a square crop. Hope you dont mind :) 1-Art Institute of Chicago Staircas...

Re: New Photography Show on BBC4

I enjoyed the show overall as well and thought Paul was a strong contender. I felt Jackson struggled in the beginning and didnt have much self confidence but I like his band shots. Thought it was quite telling that the youngest candidates all got some reward out of it. Hope another series is commiss...

Re: Paul's Photo of the Month

Still continuing to use my LED light panel for June's image. This time I layed it on the floor and used fallen petals from our garden.
