Week 03

A trip out after work provided this weeks image. I was intending on posting a shot of the Gherkin but wasnt happy with the result. I then turned my attention to the Heron Tower. I has some changing lights all the way down its lift shaft which add some colour to an otherewise monochrome image. I knew...

Re: #47- Crocus Stamen

I had half planned to take snowdrops or crocuses for my own 52 week project this week but seeing your shot and Mike's snowdrops I am changing the plan. Brought my camera and tripod to work today and will be going for some after dark architecture shots. Another busy day but spotted this solitary litt...

Re: #45 - A Billion Bubbles

I love the bubbles in bubbles effect. It has a good sci-fi feel to it. Ive used lemonade before in a glass dish and used an LED torch to light it, its unpredictable but its all about experimentation. Four days of photos to share so here we go! Wanted to try bubble photography and although it's a hit...

Re: David's Project 365

Your image reminded me of a set I saw a while ago of a photographer who took pictures of the contents of peoples bags.

Ive just found the set here on flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasontravis/sets/72157603258446753/

Maybe this is another idea to add to your list?

Re: PAD 39 - Snowdrops

I was planning to take snowdrops this week with the icy weather but my work shift meant I didnt get home in time for good light, hence my "cerberus" image ;)

Re: Paul's 52 Week Project

Ha! I like the Cerberus reference. It also reminded me of the Bohemian Rhapsody video with each head under a spotlight.

Unusual, unsettling and definitely got an edge. Good photography, well executed. Keep them coming!

Week 02

Heres the 2nd weeks and I thought I would go for a self portrait. Not too confident with the speedlite as I knew everything had to be in manual mode. I triggered it at arms length at 1/32 power and found 8 seconds exposure was enough to flash it 3 times. Gave it a slightly blue tint after conversion...

Re: David's Project 365

I think the splash shot is one of your best so far :) Love the colour and the rays towards the camera, also how one of them "bends" around the splash itself. It has an almost CGI effect as its lit so well. I would say well worth the amount of shooting time you spent on it. I will try a spl...

Re: #37 - Leaf Skeleton

Fantastic image, love the diagonal composition. Looks like it was taken under a microscope, maybe I will keep some old flowers in the shed and see how they fair after a few months :)

Re: Paul's 52 Week Project

Well here is the first image of my project. We caught some mackerel on a fishing trip in Lyme Regis last year and this fella has been in the freezer ever since. So froze him and then pored some hot water over him to give a nice sheen. Natural window light and a reflector used. Not happy with the blo...
