Re: Vitual image critique

Hi Ron! I really like the colours of the small rose, the focus on it is a little off but I think that still works, as softness is one the things you associate with roses. Softening/blurring the background nicely done! We're you happy with the changes/end result? I would have approached this a little...

Re: Be at Live Canon launch

Was the wait worth it? What do people think about the new cameras? Amateur Photographers seems to be excited by the R6. https://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/reviews/compactsystemcameras/canon-eos-r6-review I didn't think the final production reflected the hype; however these cameras are just what'...

Re: You need a backup strategy. Here's Glyn Dewis'

That's really interesting, Frank and very useful. I particularly like they way you've assigned different files to different disks. I have a couple of questions: 1) You say you use a USB flash drive for disater recovery. What's on it and how big is the drive? 2) You're using Zoolz as cloud storage. ...

Re: You need a backup strategy. Here's Glyn Dewis'

This is similar to mine, it's incorporated into my workflow - which I didn't feel I really did justice to the other week. Essentially I have 4 internal hard drives. The system drive has all the applications and catalogue files this is a Solid State flash drive. I use Genie Timeline to create a disas...

Re: Olympus has fallen!

"I can tell you is that we have sold more products in the last three months in the UK than we did last year – sales in this first quarter are up." How many of those sales would have been realised, had they made the announcement end of last year!? I just hope they provide the same level of ...

Yes I was able to see them all; but I did experience page loading issues but that could be down to the Internet or my connection. The pages did eventually load. Congratulations again!

Re: Olympus has fallen!

Sony should be safer and is developing a comprehensive system for its full frame mirrorless offerings. Its better lenses are eye-wateringly expensive, though. Canon should be safer still, but the RF range is still new and lacking maturity. Yes the cost of the Sony glass as you say is eye-watering, ...

Re: Olympus has fallen!

It was the C730, it was very laggy - it took awhile to get use to objects and people exiting the frame after composing and pressing the shutter. I stuck with it and improved my technique for anticipating the shot until I switched to the Canon 20d, from there I upgraded to the 5d mkii, my next camera...

Re: Recovering failed hard disk

HULLO ALL, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS ANDY A FEW WEEKS AGO, I MAY HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT IT IN THE FORUM, I BOUGHT ANOTHER EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE AND I WAS ABLE TO SEE EVERYTHING I HAD LOST WHEN I MOVED EVERYTHING ON TO IT. MY PROBLEM NOW IS I CANNOT RID MYSELF OF THE FOLDERS FROM MY OVERLOADED EXTERNAL FI...
