Re: Third-party Printing Service Recommendations?

If a direct service was needed I'm happy to add a recommendation for Metro Imaging, a 10 min walk from Farringdon Station, they can also do trans prints for back-illuminated work. Before I bought my inkjet printer I was quite happy using ProAm (used only for C-prints). My experience was that it was ...

Re: Smartphone Pics

I wouldn't dismiss mobile phone use either. As well as a very handy method of recording items or detail from events they can be used to produce shots that are otherwise a little tricky. Particularly when traveling. For instance this shot of Chelsea supporters on there way to a morning match on the t...

Re: Facebook page for the club

Definitely the way to go. None too keen on Facebook as a personal forum myself, far too intrusive for my liking. But Facebook is excellent for group activities and would be happy to support it.

Cheers,

Graham

I guess I'm not alone and Flikr is now owned by the awfully named SmugMug who probably bought it from Ya...

Falmouth University''s Landings 2018 is launched

As some know I'm studying for a 'Flexible' (distant learning) Photography MA with Falmouth University. As part of the course a number of us have contributed to an on-line collection of work called 'Landings 2018' that will be launched today. Here's a link to a 'taster' video, expertly conceived and ...

Emmanuel's Portrait lighting Workshop with Tamyka

Many thanks to Emmanuel for providing quite a very well-thought out introduction to the merits of studio lighting. Here's a few images I took at the workshop last night.

Re: Where does this leave Street Photography?

It doesn’t happen often but if I am asked to delete an image I generally would, at least if it was of a person. I try to respect the person(s) I’m photographing and although the law is on my side it seems simpler to avoid the argument. Joel Meyerwitz, the American street photographer has written wit...
